Presented by Lone Star Chapter, APG at the Texas State GS Annual Conference 24-25 October 2008 in Abilene, Texas Lone Star Chapter APGOrganized in 1979, the Association of Professional Genealogists (APG) is a 501(c)6 nonprofit that serves as an umbrella organization for the diverse roles of genealogy. The more than 2,000 US and international members include family historians, professional researchers, librarians, archivists, writers, editors, consultants, indexers, instructors, lecturers, columnists, booksellers, publishers, computer specialists and geneticists.The Lone Star Chapter is a regional subgroup of APG. Our members represent the broad spectrum of genealogical pursuits covered by the APG umbrella. Membership in APG is open to any person or institution willing to support the objectives and the APG Code of Ethics. Membership in the Lone Star Chapter is open to any APG member. Although the majority of Chapter members reside in Texas, we are proud that our rolls include members who reside in Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma and New Mexico. The Lone Star Chapter supports the objectives of APG:
CG, Certified Genealogist, and CGL, Certified Genealogical Lecturer are service marks of the Board for Certification of Genealogists® (BCG), used under license by professionals who pass periodic competency evaluations by the Board. AG and Accredited Genealogist are service marks of the International Commission for the Accreditation of Genealogists® (ICAPGen), used under license by professionals who pass competency evaluations by ICAPGen. |
